Yao Nai (1731~1815), born in Tongcheng, was a poet in Qing Dynasty. Mr. Bao, a scholar in the twenty-eighth year of Qing Qianlong, was a doctor of punishments and an ancient scholar. He has been in charge of academies in Jiangning and Yangzhou for forty years and participated in the compilation of Sikuquanshu.

His uncle Fan Yao got classics and ancient prose from Liu Dakui and became the main writer of Tongcheng School. Based on textual research and lyrics, the article must carry forward the Confucian "righteousness" and distinguish between masculine and feminine styles. He also developed Liu Dakui's idea of imitating ancient times, and advocated simulating the "temperament" of ancient Chinese, and then simulating its "divine taste".
