Hu Yongnian's life story

Hu Yongnian was born in Sanfang Village, Shifang Town, Wuping County in the 31st year of Guangxu (1905). 10 (192 1) graduated from primary school and was admitted to No.7 Middle School.

Hu Yongnian works in calligraphy and is good at reciting, especially in literature and history. He is the author of Poetry after School. Yongnian has been engaged in middle school geography teaching for a long time, with rich professional knowledge and skillful teaching skills. Teaching is serious and responsible, striving for perfection, and preparing lessons carefully. According to the task and content of geography teaching, he often chooses intuitive teaching to achieve good results. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, there was a serious shortage of geographical wall charts and models. Yongnian carefully drew dozens of teaching wall charts, vividly told students in class, and pointed out the geographical positions of borders, topography, mountains, rivers, traffic trunk lines and cities on the wall charts from time to time with a pointer, which was concise and accurate and still praised by people today. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he traveled to Wuping mountains and rivers many times, compiled the textbook "Local Geography of Wuping County" and made three-dimensional terrain models of Fujian Province and Wuping County. He also used his spare time to collect and sort out the materials of Wuping peasant uprising in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and led students to explore Neolithic cultural relics such as Shi Mao, arrows and axes in Dayangping and Tingzigang in the south of the city. These models and cultural relics were sent to the province for exhibition and won the second prize.
