On June 10, an earthquake of magnitude 5. 1 occurred in Wuqia county, Xinjiang.

According to China Seismological Network, an earthquake of magnitude 5. 1 occurred in Wuqia County, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (39.9 north latitude and 74.7 east longitude) on June/0/0/38 Beijing time, with a focal depth of 8 kilometers. According to Fan Baojun, secretary of Wuqia County Party Committee, as of June 10/9: 30, * * verified that the earthquake had caused 122 houses, 184 greenhouses to crack to varying degrees, and 2 sheepfolds collapsed. At present, no casualties have been reported, and the earthquake-resistant house has been built.

Immediately after the earthquake, the third-level response of the earthquake emergency plan was launched, and six working groups were sent to six towns and villages with strong earthquakes to check the disaster situation and carry out rescue. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zhou Ke Party Committee and government sent earthquake and civil affairs departments to the earthquake-stricken areas to guide the work.

Fan Baojun, secretary of the county party committee of Wuqia County, told reporters that Wuqia County has informed all towns and units to take precautions against earthquakes and geological disasters, and asked cadres and workers, farmers and herdsmen, meteorological and earthquake departments of the county to pay attention to weather and climate changes. They all live in earthquake-resistant houses, while others set up tents and felt houses to ensure the safety of people's lives and property in the earthquake zone. Civil affairs, finance and other departments should reserve emergency supplies. All units and towns should be on duty and submit information.
