In summer, the temperature is high, and chickens have no sweat glands. They mainly breathe with their mouths open to dissipate heat, which leads to slow body heat dissipation, reduced food intake and decreased egg production. In order to maintain the egg production of hens, it is necessary to adjust the feeding management measures in time for high temperature.

(1) Avoid direct sunlight, which may lead to the increase of shed temperature and body temperature, and affect the laying of hens. Therefore, we can plant trees or build scaffolding and shade around chicken coops and sports venues to slow down the intensity of direct sunlight. If the weather is hot and dry, you can often sprinkle water or spray to cool down.

(3) Increase the content of protein in the diet. Because the feed intake of laying hens is reduced in hot days, the intake of protein in the body is insufficient, thus affecting the egg production. Only by properly increasing the content of protein in feed can the needs of laying hens for protein be met. For example, the crude protein content in the feed can be increased by 2% ~ 3%, the feed content of cake meal in the diet can be increased to 20% ~ 25%, and the feed of fish meal and bone meal can be added to 5% ~ 7%, so that the crude protein content in the diet can reach more than 10%. Conditional can feed some small fish, shrimp or earthworm, fly maggot and other animal protein feed.

(4) When the weather is hot enough to drink, the water consumption of chickens increases. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure uninterrupted water production in the sink, put the sink in a cool place, and keep the drinking water clean, cool and fresh.

(5) Changing feeding methods: The high temperature at noon in summer will reduce the appetite of chickens, and the lower temperature in the morning and evening will lead to better appetite. Therefore, it is necessary to change the feeding method and feed more when the two ends are cold in the morning and evening, so that chickens can eat well. At noon, you can add some green and juicy feed to promote appetite and increase nutrition.

(6) Reduce the feeding density and keep the henhouse clean. In order to facilitate heat dissipation and reduce the influence of harmful gases on chickens, the feeding density should be reduced.
