What do you mean by dog days?

The dog days refer to the period of the year when the temperature is the highest and it is humid and sultry.

The dog days, which appear between the summer heat and the summer heat, are the period with the highest temperature, the highest humidity and the most severe sultry heat in a year. Three volts can be divided into initial, middle and final volts, and its date is determined by the coordination of 24 solar terms and the dates of dry and branch. After "entering the volt", many places in the country will enter the continuous high temperature mode. The dog days refer to the period of the year when the temperature is the highest and it is humid and sultry.

The length of dog days mainly lies in the difference between middle and next days. Because the third Geng day (the first autumn) after the summer solstice solar term occurs at different times every year, the number of days in the middle autumn is also different. The incubation time is long or short, which may be 10 day or 20 days. So there are two situations: some years are 30 days in dog days, and some years are 40 days.

Date calculation in dog days

Dog days, one volt is ten days, counted by days. Therefore, the dog days are divided into three days, namely the third day and the first day from summer to the future.

For example, the summer solstice in 2006 is June 2 1 in the western calendar year. The dry day of this day is Xin Day, and 28 days later is the third Geng Day. July 20, 2006, is the beginning of the first volt; Ten days later, it was another Geng day, that is, on July 30, it entered the second volt; Ten days later, it was another Geng Day, the first Geng Day after beginning of autumn, that is, August 9, and it entered the dog days.

If it is 2007, July 15 is the third Geng day and the beginning of the first volt; Ten days later, it was another Geng day, that is, July 25, and it entered the second volt (middle volt); Ten days later, it's another watch day, but I haven't been to beginning of autumn yet. Ten days later (there are still 20 days in mid-autumn this year), it will be another Geng Day, the first Geng Day after beginning of autumn, that is, in August of 14, it will enter the dog days.

In other words, every year after the dog days, it is very hot, especially in the middle ten days (sometimes twenty days), which is the hottest. There is a folk saying that "the cold is in the March 9th and the summer heat is in the middle". The above contents are for reference only.
