Monkou Tea Area, Bawai and Nuowu

Although the two stockades have been arranged by the government to build a new village, some residents have moved back to the old village because the tea garden is mainly in the old village. Moreover, in recent years, with the popularity of Wuzhai in Iceland and the rising price of tea, more and more tea farmers began to choose to go back to Laozhai to establish a preliminary tea system and make tea in the tea season.

Regarding the specific situation of Liangzhai Tea Garden, I will briefly talk about it here. There are about 500-600 mu of well-preserved tea gardens in the old village of Bawai, of which about 100 mu is over 200 years old. It is basically distributed around Laozhai and mainly grows in forests. The ecological environment is good, but it is difficult to pick tea in tea season, so mules and horses are often needed as transportation tools. Although Nuowu is now arranged by the majority of tea lovers in the sequence of five villages in Iceland, its popularity is not as good as that of the other four villages, and it was even ignored for a time. There are several main reasons: First, because the area of Nuowu ancient tea garden is only 50 or 60 mu, the output is the least in the whole Icelandic tea area. Second, the road to Nuowu is not easy, which restricts foreign tourists from entering the village and the development of Nuowu tea industry. Third, the taste of Nuowu tea is different from that of the old villages, the three southern villages and the borders of Iceland. There is an obvious bitter bottom, but the tea is full of strength and has a long history of returning to Gansu. Different from the sweet and soft taste of Monkou tea area, the tea in Bawai old village is similar. Therefore, old tea drinkers may prefer the tea in these two villages, but tea lovers who have just come into contact with Pu 'er tea can't. A tea friend once said that the bitterness of Bawai and Nuowu tea was influenced by the walnut trees planted in the tea garden. This statement has indeed been proved in practice, and I believe it, because I personally drank it at a small tea farmer's house. The tea made by the tea tree next to the walnut field is indeed more astringent than the tea made in other plots, and I also consulted the relevant research data, confirming that the walnut tree will also affect the growth of the tea tree, which makes me more embarrassed. But in many villages, walnuts and tea are two major industries in the village, and the income of many farmers' friends also comes from this. Therefore, it is difficult to cut down all the walnut trees and develop tea in reality for a while. But if the walnut tree is not cut down, tea will not develop, tea prices will not rise, and the income of tea farmers' friends will not rise. This has undoubtedly become a dilemma, which requires all tea farmers to make a bold decision.
