The water waves in the river, the white feathers of waterfowl, the green and red flowers on the mountain are in contrast, and you want to burn. This spring is coming to an end. When will I go home?

The mountains and rivers are bathed in spring, so beautiful, and the spring breeze brings the fragrance of flowers and plants. Swallows are busy building nests with wet mud in their mouths, and couples of mandarin ducks are sleeping on the warm beach. This group of poems was written in the spring of 764, the second year of Guangde, Tang Daizong. In the first year of Baoying, Tang Suzong (762), Chengdu Yin entered the DPRK, and turmoil occurred in Shu. Du Fu once avoided Zizhou (treating Santai in Sichuan). In the second year, the Anshi Rebellion was put down. A year later, Yanwu returned to Chengdu and went to Shu again. Du Fu learned the news of this old friend and followed him back to Chengdu Caotang.

At this time, Du Fu's mood was particularly comfortable. Faced with a vibrant scene, he couldn't help writing this group of impromptu poems. Du Yi of Wang Siyuan in the late Ming Dynasty said that this group of poems was "built after living in the thatched cottage, and it is planned to spend the rest of my life here, but I said so".

Second, the appreciation of works

Tao Yukai, a poetry theorist in the Qing Dynasty, pointed out in his book On Du Fu that there are many works in Du Fu's anthology that "take poetry as painting". This five-character quatrain written in Chengdu Caotang is a very poetic masterpiece. At the beginning of the poem, I began to use ink from a big place, depicting the beautiful spring scenery around Huanhuaxi under the bright sunshine in early spring. This pen is simple and colorful.
