Orchid planting method

Online introduction of orchid cultivation methods, some statements are very wrong! First of all, we should understand the properties of orchids and the requirements of soil for orchid cultivation: ① Physiology: orchids and Clivia are semi-parasitic plants (that is, between mushrooms and plants). ② Adapting to the "soil": As a semi-parasitic plant, it relies on the root to absorb the slightly acidic organic alkaline nutrients provided by the fungi that rot the leaf skin, and the leaves to absorb the scattered light, so as to carry out photosynthesis to produce nutritional growth. ③ Life characteristics: I am afraid of sunshine, boredom, water and humidity, and live by the humidity of ambient air. ④ Growth characteristics: cool in spring and cool in autumn, dormant in summer and cold in winter, and budding in spring, autumn and winter below zero 10. According to the above four characteristics of cultivation and management: ① In order to adapt to the growth attributes of orchids, as well as to be beautiful, compact and hygroscopic, 80-90% rotten leaf bark+10-20% mud balls (or 100% rotten leaf bark) are generally used as "soil" for cultivation, and plain pottery pots (or pots with large diameters) are used for cultivation. In particular, it is pointed out that the rotten leaf bark can only be used for four years because "cultivating orchids first nourishes qi", and it must be replaced with new rotten leaf bark after four years, because there is no active substance for orchids to "parasitize" after four years, and the rotten leaf bark becomes peat soil with poor air permeability and water permeability, which is not suitable for raising orchids at all. (2) Water: Water thoroughly if you don't do it. According to the different climate, water is usually poured once every ten days and a half months. Don't water orchids in rainy days. Orchids are afraid of water, but they like humid air. In hot and dry weather, it is best to spray a small amount of fog on orchid leaves at noon and night.

③ Fertilization: June+10-February, 5438, fully fermented light rice washing water or light rotten slightly acidic fertilizer water made from chickens, ducks and fish. In particular, it is pointed out that orchids do not directly absorb nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and light organic fertilizer is used to cultivate humus bacteria, which is not suitable for applying alkali fertilizer and chemical fertilizer.

④ Illumination: Avoid direct sunlight, place it in a place with sufficient scattered light, and wipe off the dust on the leaves with a clean rag every half month to make the leaves beautiful and fully absorb the light. ⑤ In cold regions, although orchids can withstand the temperature of -8 degrees in the natural environment, when the temperature drops to 5 degrees, potted plants should be transported to a place with good indoor light for wintering (it can meet the winter sunshine when it warms up in sunny days) to avoid being frozen through the pot soil and roots by the temperature below zero and dying (there is ground temperature in the field). -The above is my practical experience in raising orchids (the same is true for raising Clivia) and my observation, understanding and cognition of orchids for decades, for your reference only.
