Legends, stories and stories about dragons.

1, the place name legend of Shanlong Temple

In ancient times, there was a white female snake in Litao River in the east stream of Huoshan Mountain, and a black male snake in Panjiashan in the west stream. Every snake practices, does good deeds and protects the village. Because we share the same interests and love each other, we are going to become dragons and fly together for a long time. But if you want to be a Jackie Chan, you must swim to the sea.

When two snakes met in a catastrophic flash flood, the black snake cleared the way ahead and led the white snake into the flood and rushed downstream. After swimming through a turning water inlet, it was blocked by the mountain. In order to let the white snake pass through the mountain pass smoothly, the black snake hit the mountain with his head and prepared to break the pass. The white snake sympathized with the black snake and flew over to help. Qi Xin, two snakes, worked together and finally knocked the pass open, but both snakes were injured.

After the white snake came out of the pass, it barely supported its body and dived downstream. After the black snake hit the mountain, it gradually fainted due to excessive force and didn't wake up until the fourth hour. Remembering the help of the white snake when it hit the mountain, I felt that the white snake was also injured. Without going far, I continued to look for the white snake downstream. When I reached a sand ridge (near today's Danlongsi Bridge), I surfaced to catch my breath and continued down the river.

At that time, local villagers were building temples to live and work in peace and contentment. But when the main hall is on the beam, for some reason, there is either a problem or a problem, and it is always impossible to get on the beam, which almost kills people. Wang Zushi, who presided over the construction of the temple, thought it was caused by the dissatisfaction of heaven, but he didn't know how to solve it. It's no use asking God to worship Buddha all day.

One night, the ancestor saw Guanyin Bodhisattva floating in colorful clouds in the South China Sea, instructing the ancestor and giving him a chance. It is said that the light beam was not blocked by a thousand-year-old black snake the day before yesterday. If you want the beam to succeed, you must act according to this method: if you see two dragons in the river, beam at night; If you only see a dragon, beam it in rainy days to ensure your success.

However, there is one condition. If you only see one dragon, it means that the other dragon is seriously injured. Please burn incense and inform Wu Jinniu (practicing for a thousand years) of Wu Niuhe (now the administrative village of Longsi Town, Shanlong) to prepare to treat the seriously injured Millennium snake near the broom river. The patriarch guessed that it must be in rainy and foggy weather, especially when there is a thunderstorm.

It was raining heavily that day, and the patriarch dared not neglect it. Wearing a hat and hemp fiber, he stood by the river in the thunderstorm to watch. If you really saw a dragon-shaped snake flowing down the river, the founder decided that this was the dragon mentioned in Guanyin's dream. So, when he burned incense and sent a letter to Taurus, he ordered the builder of the temple to send a message in the rain. Strangely, the beam was really smooth this time.

The patriarch is very happy. In order to thank God for his gift and protection of the dragon, he named the temple Shanlong Temple (now where Shanlong Temple Middle School is located) to worship the dragon god.

2. The story of the dragon raising its head on February 2nd.

According to legend, Wu Zetian became emperor, which annoyed the Jade Emperor and told the Four Seas Dragon King not to rain on earth for three years. Soon, the Dragon King, who was in charge of Tianhe, listened to the cries of the people, watched the people starve to death, and worried that human life would be cut off, so he went against the jade emperor's will and sent rain for the sky.

When the Jade Emperor learned that the Dragon King had been sent down to the mortal world, he was put under a big mountain to suffer, and a monument was erected on the mountain: The Dragon King's rain violated the laws of heaven and should be punished for future generations; If you want to go back to Lingxiao Pavilion, people will look for blooming golden beans everywhere to save the Dragon King unless the golden beans bloom.

On the second day of February of the following year, when people were drying corn seeds, they thought the corn looked like golden beans. It blooms when it's fried. Isn't it golden beans? Every household popped popcorn and put a case in the yard to burn incense for the "golden beans" that have already blossomed. The Dragon King looked up and knew that people had saved him. He shouted to the jade emperor, "The golden beans are blooming, let me out quickly!"

As soon as the Jade Emperor saw that the golden beans in the yard of every household in the world were in full bloom, he would send a message to the Dragon King, asking him to return to heaven and continue to give sex to the world. Since then, people have formed a habit. On the second day of February, people eat popcorn and some fried beans. Adults and children still read: "On February 2, the dragon looked up, the big warehouse was full, and the small warehouse flowed."

3. Dragon legends in Buddhism.

Legend has it that a long time ago, a dragon made waves, its body became smaller and smaller, and its magic was boundless, which destroyed the whole life. Six ancestors came to surrender with bowls. The sixth ancestor said to the dragon, "If you are a real dragon, you can grow up or get smaller. If you can't get smaller, you are not a dragon. "

Hearing this, the dragon immediately became the size of a caterpillar. The sixth ancestor added, "I have a bowl here, and you are definitely afraid to go in." Dragons are angry and easily provoked. He got into the bowl at once, but he couldn't get out. In this way, the sixth ancestor took back the dragon.

After he surrendered the dragon, he meditated, repented of his sins and converted to Buddhism.

4. Ye Gong Haolong

During the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a nobleman in the State of Chu who was sealed in Yedi. After his death, his son Gao Ye inherited his father's fief, and everyone called him "Ye Gong". This Lord Ye likes dragons very much. In his home, dragons are painted almost everywhere. Dragons are painted on walls, carved on pillars, carved on beams and windows, and embroidered on clothes and bedding.

His household chopsticks, plates, bowls and saucers also have dragon patterns, and even various tools are made in the shape of Jackie Chan. In Ye Gong's home, it can be said that dragons are everywhere, just like entering a dragon world. The news that Ye Gong is a good dragon was heard by the real dragon in the sky. Zhenlong was very moved and decided to visit Ye Gong on earth.

The real dragon in the sky came to Ye Gong's house. Its head poked in through the window and its tail reached into the hall. It wanted to come in and meet Ye Gong. At this time, Ye Gong in the room looked up and suddenly found the real dragon. He was terrified out of his wits, his face changed greatly, and he started to run, trying to hide quickly. Only then did the real dragon know that Ye Gong loved the carved and painted fake dragon, not the real dragon.

Step 5 make the finishing point

There was a famous painter named Zhang Sengyou in the Liang Dynasty. One day, Liang Wudi asked a monk friend to draw four golden dragons on the wall of the temple. Monk friend Zhang painted it in three days. It looks like a real dragon. When everyone heard about it, they all went to see it and gave bursts of praise.

However, when people look closer, they find that every dragon has no eyes. Zhang Sengyou explained, "If I add eyes to dragons, they will fly away!" Everyone didn't believe it and insisted that he add eyes.

Monk Zhang had no choice but to promise to add eyes to both of them. A strange phenomenon appeared: two dragons with painted eyes flew into the sky at the same time.
