The north wind blows, the war drums beat, who is afraid of whom in the ice and snow!

Yesterday, January 8, 2017, I participated in the "Beijing Unlocked Subway Run Line 2" event organized by Paojia Sports. The starting point for running is Chaoyangmen Station, run along the No. 2 Ring Line, and then return to Chaoyangmen Station.

People who love running are not afraid of the severe cold and gather at the starting point with great interest. There were young couples who came to run, and a foreign couple and their whole family took part in the competition with their little boy. I happened to be running next to a little boy on the road and couldn't help but take a picture of him. The cute boy realized that I was taking a picture of him, so he turned his face to me and cooperated with me in taking pictures. The child has a completely Western face, but he must have lived in China for many years and speaks orthodox Mandarin. He asked me how many kilometers I had run, and I said 24. He praised me: Awesome! Said he only ran 10 kilometers.

The weather was also beautiful yesterday, and the haze that had been there for many days was blown away by the wind, and it became clear again, as if it had cast a spell for us runners.

There was an eldest sister who was 28 years old times two, with a slim figure, pretty features, and ran very fast. I gritted my teeth and followed her along the way. I was very tired, but nothing happened to her. Because she can easily complete the marathon. There is another eldest sister who is also of the same age, loves to talk and laugh, and says she just likes to run and jump with young people!

Everyone came together because of the same hobbies, and they became familiar with each other as soon as they met, and they were somewhat cordial to each other. Many people are marathon runners, and some have just finished the cross-country run in Yaya Lake the day before, and then came to run the second subway ring. Some people are injured and have not fully recovered yet, so they jog slowly as recovery training. People with similar running speeds naturally form a group and encourage each other along the way.

There are always people around you who are imparting experience and helping you. Run slowly, don’t stop, take a deep breath, and don’t drink too much water. From time to time, enthusiastic passers-by would extend their thumbs and praise while shouting, "Come on!"

Because it is not a large-scale formal competition, but a fitness and fun run for a small group of people to participate in, the focus is not on speed, but on participation.

To borrow a sentence I saw during the Wild Duck Lake Cross-Country Run, I can describe the spirit of the runners who are sweating all over during the cold weather. That is such a kind of pride: North Wind Blow, beat the drums, who is afraid of whom in the ice and snow!
