Think back to a time in your life when you tried something new.

When I was a teenager, I volunteered at a local running race, handing out water to runners. I felt very excited when I saw different players running over and quickly picking up a glass of water. Some people ran by, some walked by, and some were in wheelchairs.

I saw all kinds of people competing, and I thought maybe I could do it myself. The next year, I decided to run a race, but I didn't practice much. I just wanted to finish the race.

On the day of the game, the weather was terribly hot. After running another 5 kilometers, I thought, “I must be crazy, why am I running, what was I thinking.” I thought, “I will never do this again.”

< p>Those 10 kilometers were really hard. I ran, I walked, I walked and ran. At that time, I didn’t know if I could finish the race.

As I was approaching the finish line, an old man in his 70s passed me quickly. I felt a little embarrassed. Because I am almost 50 years younger than him, but I can't even keep up with his speed. Then I realized something, he was running his race and I was running mine. How often in life do we make unnecessary comparisons between ourselves and others. I decided that I will not give up racing, and one day in the future, I will become a 70-year-old person who has not given up racing.

When I crossed the finish line, I was proud of myself and I didn’t regret the experience at all.
