Lugu Lake is located between Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province and Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the boundary lake between Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. It is owned by Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, with Sichuan accounting for about 2/3 of the total area and Yunnan accounting for 1/3 of the total area. The coastline of Sichuan is much longer than that of Yunnan. Lugu Lake is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau".
