North China is one of the seven geographical divisions in China. In physical geography, it generally refers to the vast areas north of the Huaihe River Line in Qinling Mountains and south of the Great Wall. The north is connected with northeast China and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Handan, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province, is located at the southern end of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, between 36 20 ′ and 36 44 ′ north latitude and between114 03 ′ ~114 40 ′ east longitude. It borders Taihang Mountain in the west, North China Plain in the east, and Shanxi, Shandong and Henan provinces.
