In cold weather, the battery of electric car will die soon.
At present, 80%-90% of electric vehicles on the market use lead-acid batteries. One disadvantage of lead-acid batteries is that they can't withstand low temperature. Under normal circumstances, the optimal working temperature of the battery is 25℃, and the available capacity of the battery decreases by about 0.8% for every decrease of 65438 0℃.
Second, the battery's charging and discharging ability is weakened.
When the temperature is low, the charging and discharging ability of electric vehicle battery will be weakened, and this situation will be improved when the temperature is high. The temperature is low in winter, so the electricity in the battery can't be released. Generally, the battery power will drop by about 40%, while some batteries with poor quality will drop even more.
Thirdly, the temperature of the battery solution becomes lower and the activity decreases.
Lead-acid batteries are widely used in electric vehicles, and their power generation principle is to generate electricity by chemical reaction. When the temperature drops in winter, the temperature of the solution in the lead-acid battery decreases, and the substance activity in it will also decrease, the conversion efficiency will be low, and the resistance will increase, which will lead to the decrease of the discharge voltage of the battery, the decrease of the available capacity of the battery and the acceleration of power consumption. When a chemical reaction occurs, the amount of electricity generated and released will be much reduced. Once the temperature is lower than 15℃, the battery life will get worse and worse. When the weather is below 0℃, the cruising range will decrease by about 1/3.
Therefore, "the battery of electric vehicle takes longer to charge, but it is not durable" is caused by these reasons.
How to alleviate the problem of battery durability in winter?
1, and appropriately extend the charging time.
When charging, even if the charger turns green, the charging time will be extended for a period of time, and it can float 1-2 hours. But remember not to spend too long. Many users are used to plugging it in and unplugging it when they use the car the next day. I don't know if you are familiar with it. Overcharging will damage the battery, especially it will reduce the storage capacity of the battery.
2. Grasp the battery power.
In winter, the capacity of the battery will decrease. When the battery capacity is 25%, it needs to be charged in time. If you don't charge it in time, it is very likely that you will run out of electricity after riding for a while. This is the phenomenon that the battery is dead in winter, so it should be charged in time.
3. Reduce braking and restart.
Because of the cold weather, if you increase the throttle or brake frequently, the current of the battery will increase and accelerate the consumption of the battery. In order to ensure that the battery is fully charged, some flame retardant materials can be used to cover the battery, so that the temperature of the battery will rise and the capacitance will increase.
4. Avoid low-temperature charging
Charging is slower at low temperature because the battery needs to be "heated". When the temperature is low in winter, the battery is below 0℃, and the system will heat the battery first. When the temperature reaches above 5℃, the vehicle will be charged. Therefore, it is suggested that car owners "charge after use" when the temperature is low in winter, and charge the vehicle in time after use. At this time, the battery temperature is relatively high, which can improve the charging efficiency.
5. Pay attention to the sequence of plugging and unplugging the power supply.
When charging, plug in the battery first, then plug in the power supply; When it is full, cut off the power first, and then unplug the battery. If the order is reversed, it may burn out the battery or charger. In addition, it is also necessary to regularly check whether there is any leakage or insulation damage on the electric vehicle lines, so as to prevent electric leakage from hurting people when charging, and more importantly, to prevent short circuit and fire when charging or driving.
6. Never put it on hold for a long time.
Even if the electric car doesn't ride, the battery will discharge. Many electric cars have basically discharged the basic electricity within two weeks of standing. If you don't ride for a long time, make sure to replenish electricity at least once a month to avoid power loss.
