1. Seed selection: In North China, willow seeds in Wen Xiang nursery mature in mid-September and early last month, and can be harvested. Choose a tree with strong tree potential and good tree posture as the mother tree for seed collection. Choose seeds with full grains and no pests and diseases. Soak in water after harvesting 1 day. Then thresh with water and dry in the shade in a cool and ventilated place to avoid sun exposure. Dry in the shade for 2-3 days, and store with clean and moist sand. During seed storage, water is sprayed and stirred once every half month. Spray water until the sand is wet to avoid too much water.

2. Sowing and post-sowing management: tassel seeds should be stored in sand until March of the following year, and when the seeds are about 30% white, the whole bed should be sowed in time. Nursery land should be deep and fertile land with good drainage and convenient irrigation. Seedling raising in North China adopts high ridge sowing in the field. Generally, the ridge spacing is 30 cm, the ridge height is 20 cm and the ridge width is 50 cm. Apply sufficient base fertilizer and open two rows of sowing ditches on both sides of each ridge top. The row spacing of the seeding ditch on the ridge top is 30 cm to 40 cm, and the depth of the seeding ditch is 2 cm. Spread the germinated seeds evenly in the sowing ditch, with the sowing amount of 15 kg to 20 kg per mu, then cover the seeds with fine soil, and then cover them with grass to keep moisture. In case the weather is dry, you can water the seeds in the furrow to make them wet. Don't let the ridges overflow when watering, or the soil will harden easily. One month after sowing, the seedlings began to emerge. When the temperature is high and the light is strong, a shade shed should be built in time to shade the sun. If the seedlings are too dense, they can be properly thinned. In summer, the nursery should be cultivated and weeded frequently to keep the soil loose. Willow likes to fertilize, and it is fertilized every half month from June to August, so pay attention to insect prevention. Through management, the maximum length of willow 1 annual seedlings can be 0.8m to 1.2m, and the ground diameter is about 1cm.
