The origin of routine aviation weather report

The format of routine weather report is June 1968+ 10/0/. However, the United States and Canada, which follow the FAA system, only used the routine weather report in the same international format on 1 July, 19961day.

Like MayDay, the English for routine weather reports evolved from French. METAR was originally written as message d 'observation mé té orologique ré guliè re pour l 'aviation in French, which refers to the information obtained from routine observation of aviation meteorological conditions. Later, people took the prefix M-E-T-A-R as their name. The US Federal Aviation Administration and the US National Weather Service regard METAR as a weather airport report in English, which is also regarded as the origin of METAR name.
