Qinhuangdao has a history of more than 100 years since it was established as a commercial port in 1898. Qinhuangdao has jurisdiction over Haigang District, Shanhaiguan District, Beidaihe District, Changli County, Funing County, lulong county and Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County.
