Over the years, more than 65,438+10,000 people in the South Three Islands can only travel by ferry, which is very inconvenient for production and life. Backward traffic conditions have restricted the development and economic development of Nansan Island, and many investment development and construction projects have also been stranded due to traffic problems. What's more, in stormy weather, the ferry stopped, and some sick people could not go out for treatment even if their lives were dying. The people of Nansan are unwilling to be closed, poor and backward, and the demand for the construction of Nansan Bridge is very urgent and the voice is very strong. Successive governments in Potou District have also made a lot of efforts to build the bridge for many years, hoping to build the South Third Bridge as soon as possible, solve the bottleneck problem of economic development in South Third, and change the face of poverty and backwardness in South Third. However, due to the long-term lag in the economic development of Nansan, the flow of people and vehicles is small, and the economic benefits of building the bridge are not obvious. It is difficult to get a return on investment only by charging the bridge, and even the daily maintenance of the bridge is difficult to maintain. The significance of building a bridge lies in the social benefits, which makes some investors "stay at a respectful distance from others", but no one cares after several attempts.

Jong Li, the chairman of Zhanjiang Guolian Aquatic Products Development Co., Ltd., who was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and Huang Zhuangqiang, the general manager of Guangdong Yin Di Construction Group Co., Ltd., who personally felt the pain of traffic constraints, and other nine successful entrepreneurs who went abroad to start their own businesses did not forget the mulberry, and jointly carried the banner of building the South Third Bridge. They jointly established the South Third Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. in June 2005. In 2005, Zhanjiang Industrial Fair and Potou District Government signed a letter of intent to build the bridge, and planned to invest 654.38+32 billion yuan to build the South Third Bridge.

The construction route of South Third Bridge starts from the farm near Chihou Village and Duzai Village in Potou District, Zhanjiang, crosses Nansan Waterway and ends at Nansan Island (connected with the completed Guandao Highway). The length of the bridge is about 86 1 m and the length of the approach bridge is 2 10 m. The second-class highway standard is adopted, the design speed is 60 km/h, the subgrade width is18m, and the bridge and culvert are covered. The estimated investment of the project is about 99 million yuan (including loan interest during the construction period, excluding a series of preliminary funds such as bridge site exploration). The construction of the South Third Bridge will fundamentally solve the problem of people's traffic difficulties on the island and promote the development and construction of the South Three Islands.
