There are several high schools in Zaoyang.

Zaoyang High School, formerly known as Zaoyang Normal School, was founded in 1948. 1999 changed from normal school to ordinary high school and was named Zaoyang Teachers College Senior High School. In 2004, it was rated as "Xiangfan Ordinary High School Model School" by the Education Supervision Office of Xiangfan Municipal Government.

2. Zaoyang No.1 Middle School in Hubei Province

No.1 Middle School in Zaoyang, Hubei Province was founded on 1923, and has successively won the honors of safe and civilized campus in Hubei Province, the first place in the college entrance examination for five consecutive years in all counties and cities in the region, "high-quality student source base" and the top 50 schools in Hubei Province with comprehensive strength.

3. Zaoyang Sunshine Middle School

Zaoyang No.2 Middle School is a key high school, located in Zaoyang, Hubei Province. It is the hometown of Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty, and Nie Haisheng, a space hero. Established in 1986.
