1. Appearance: Shandong yam, like most agricultural products in Shandong, is stout and easily broken, with a single weight of more than 250g and a diameter of about 3cm. Hair beard is sparse, hair beard tail is forked, pores are not prominent, there are a few erythema but the outline is unclear, and the epidermis is shallow. The average diameter of Shatiebang yam in Wenxian County is 1 ~ 3cm (the thickness of adult thumb), and it is not easy to break. The water content of Shatiebang yam in Wenxian County is low, so it can't be broken with your fingers. There is rust erythema on the epidermis of Shatiebang yam in Wenxian county, which is evenly distributed and has deep broken lines. (This is because wen county Shatiebang Yam is produced in the Yellow River beach area with coarse sand, while Shandong Yam is grown in Heze, the old channel of the Yellow River, with fine sand. Generally speaking, Shandong yam is beautiful in appearance, more like iron stick yam than wen county sand iron stick yam, which is very deceptive. However, the Shatiebang yam in Wenxian County is influenced by 20 1 1 autumn rain, which is generally short and unsightly, so it is often regarded as a fake.

2. Taste: wen county Shatie stick yam, with delicate whole body and very delicate taste. It has the characteristics of "dry, smooth, fragrant and sweet". Eating with skin has a faint hemp taste. Shandong yam tastes hard, not dry enough, lacks the unique medicinal taste of yam, and tastes tasteless.

3. Regional differences lead to different medicinal effects: this is the core difference between Shandong yam and wen county Shatie stick yam. In recent years, a large number of Chinese yam growers in Shandong have used Chinese yam faucets produced in wen county as seeds, and the appearance of the finished product is almost the same as that of wen county Shatie Bar Chinese yam. However, "oranges are born in Huainan and oranges are born in Huaibei". Since ancient times, only yam produced in Huaiqing area of Henan Province can be used as medicine. As the best yam, Tiegun Yam has remarkable medicinal properties, which is due to the local climate, soil and geographical environment. Jiaozuo is located at the southern foot of Taihang Mountain and the north bank of the Yellow River, with mountains and rivers as the main terrain. According to China's ancient theory of Yin and Yang, the north of Shan Zhinan is called Yang, and Jiaozuo is the land of Chongyang.
