Jishishan is an extension of Qilian Mountain. Because there are two Jishi mountains in history, people often call this mountain Small Jishi Mountain, which is the floorboard of a series of peaks from Tumenguan to the Yellow River in the south-central part of the western boundary of Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, with a total length of 50 kilometers and a total area of 320 square kilometers. It is the watershed of a series of tributaries of Qingshui River and Daxia River in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the dividing line between Gansu Province and Qinghai Province, and the landmark mountain range for the transition from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Loess Plateau.
