Travel route

Line D: Xiangu Waterfall-Yilezhai-Luohan Waterfall-Sea of ??Flowers and Rhododendron-Gupo Peak

Take the sightseeing bus from the gate of the scenic spot to the end point Stop at Xiangu Waterfall, then walk to the trailhead and start climbing. Before reaching the top of the mountain, the scenery was average, just walking in the woods. During this period, you will pass Yilezhai, Luohan Waterfall and other scenic spots, and occasionally you can see the Fairy Peak of Gupo Mountain from a distance. Due to weather conditions, the peak is always shrouded in clouds and fog, making it difficult to see its true appearance.

Line A: Xiangu Waterfall-Xiangu Lawn-Jiupuxiang Winery-Fangjia Tea Garden

Xiangu Waterfall is the most spectacular waterfall in Gupo Mountain Scenic Area . The waterfall has a drop of more than 80 meters and a width of 5 meters. It is divided into two sections, the upper and lower sections. It floats and stops like smoke. When we walked to the foot of the waterfall, the water vapor filled the air and felt cool. Take a sightseeing bus from Xiangu Waterfall and get off at Xiangu Lawn, then walk inward to Jiupuxiang Winery. Jiupuxiang Winery was once a century-old handcrafted winery, and later became a vacant lot. Later, a winery was built for the filming of the TV series "Wine is Hometown Alcohol". It is still brewing and selling wine here.

The tour process

The beautiful scenery starts from the sea of ??flowers and azaleas. The top of the mountain is covered with shrubs, the view is wide, and there are blooming azaleas on both sides. If I had come a week or two earlier, the azaleas here would have bloomed more luxuriantly. Although there is no blue sky and white clouds, it is filled with clouds and mist, just like a fairyland.

Continue moving along the ridgeline towards Fairy Peak. It took nearly three hours to reach the last rest pavilion, and my legs were already very tired. There is only 720m from the rest pavilion to the foot of Fairy Madness, but how long it will take to reach the top is unknown. I thought about giving up and going back directly, but climbing mountains without reaching the top is not my style. Now that I have reached this place, I will persist a little longer. After resting for a while at the rest pavilion, I continued to move forward, watching the Fairy Peak slowly being swallowed up by the clouds and mist. The vast expanse of white in front of me also disappeared into the clouds and mist.

Although the journey was very hard and my legs were broken, the scenery of the Rhododendron Sea was really worth it, and the warmth brought to me by the five-star red flag that greeted me at the peak was also worth it, as well as climbing to the summit. The hearty pleasure you get afterwards is worth it.

Suggestion: If you are not physically strong enough or do not want to challenge yourself, you can give up this route. There are no supply points along the way, so remember to bring enough water and snacks. Also, having trekking poles will be a big help. If you don’t have trekking poles, there are a lot of sticks to pick up in the mountains.

Experience Project

Fangjia Tea Garden, with an area of ??10 acres, was once the filming location for the TV series "Tea Is Hometown". Here, you can experience tea picking and tea tasting.
