Longtoushan Chongqing Youyang Buddhist Holy Land

I heard that Longtou Mountain was once as famous as Fan Jingshan, a famous Buddhist mountain. Every year in February 19, June 19 and September 19, a large number of pilgrims come to worship from Guizhou, Hunan and Hubei, but I have never been able to see the beautiful scenery.

In order to have a deeper understanding of the development history of Buddhism in our county, I visited Xie Taishuang, a livable township head, on the 9th. This is not an interview, but a casual chat. From him, I learned that Longtou Mountain is a comprehensive tourist holy place integrating natural landscape, religious culture and folk customs.

On that day, Mrs Xie introduced many places of interest to me. Originally, he mainly introduced me to the tourism development plan of Longtoushan.

The next day coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. We drove to Cangling Town first. After a short rest, friends from Longtoushan Leisure Villa drove to Longtoushan Scenic Area.

The roads are all village roads, and the road conditions are not very good. The dirt road is bumpy, and it takes about an hour to reach the top of the mountain for more than 20 kilometers. At the end of the road is the Stone Forest. Behind the Stone Forest is a large grassland. Cattle and sheep enjoy themselves, making people feel like they are in heaven. To reach the top of Longtou Mountain, you have to walk 3 kilometers. Peer guides joked that the most important thing to worship Buddha is sincerity.

Standing at the Jinding Longtou Temple at an altitude of 1, more than 800 meters, you can see the cliffs and flowers at your feet, and you have the feeling that the mountain is the highest man-made peak. Although this temple, which was built in an unknown age, collapsed due to disrepair, the square stones used as the foundation during the construction of the temple were still put together regularly. The pilgrims who came to pay their respects drank a bowl of water in the temple, but they still did not forget to pay homage to the tomb of monk Luo next to the temple. At the beginning, the incense here was still obvious. Steep scenery and touching legends

Following the pilgrims who worshipped Buddha, we began to head for Huangsandong, halfway up the mountain. Hands and feet pass through the steep Golden Knife Gorge, where only one person can pass. After crossing the ladder, everyone comes to the "people ladder" that can only be seen when performing acrobatics. Every step feels so exciting.

The only dangerous place in Longtou Mountain is Shesheng Bridge, which is a slate placed on two huge stones. People who care about names can easily stumble and lose their lives.

After walking through the steep mountain road, I finally came to Ling Fei Temple, which is located in Huang San Cave halfway up the mountain. On the plaque above the temple gate, there are three characters "Guanyin Hall", and on both sides there are couplets of "Everything is empty, sincere respect for Buddha is boundless". There are doors in the temple, but there are no locks and no abbots. Pilgrims and tourists are free to enter and watch, and they can also make wishes in Guanyin Hall. Next to Kannonji, a mountain spring gurgled out of Huang San Cave.

According to reports, many pilgrims wishing in Kannonji often take the water in the cave away with bottles as holy water.

According to legend, the temple was built by the monk Luo. One day many years ago, monk Luo traveled to Longtou Mountain, and when he saw that Longtou Mountain was towering into the sky and the mountainside was wrapped in fog, he begged the farmers below to see the oriental glass world paved by sunrise and the western paradise immersed in sunset, but the villagers advised him to give up this idea, saying that there were tigers and white dragons in the way on the mountain road, and even hunters often died when they went up the mountain. But monk Luo was bent on being a Buddha and insisted on going up the mountain.

After more than three months' trekking, monk Luo climbed seven steep mountains, crossed nine rapids and went through hardships. When he arrived at Huang San Cave, he was so tired that he fainted. Monk Luo woke up and heard the tinkling sound of mountain springs, so he climbed over and took a few drinks. He felt refreshed after the rest. Looking around the cliff, the mountain flowers are brilliant and fragrant. Monk Luo thought it was a sacred place in his heart, so he rebuilt the temple by alms.

Solemnly release the soul, regardless of whether you believe it or not.

When entering Kannonji, Buddhist temples came into view: the Buddha statue was enshrined in the middle Buddhist temple, and several Buddha statues were also enshrined in the temples on both sides. Insert three sticks of incense in the incense burner to show respect for Buddha, Buddhism and monks.

On a huge wooden drum in front of the Buddha statue, there are a pair of horns with a long history. The tour guide said that this hexagram has a history of several decades. In the past, it was used by some people for divination. There are no morning bells and drums, no chanting. Only devout Buddhists and famous tourists gradually release their souls in front of the ethereal Buddhist temple. Due to the large number of pilgrims, many villagers eat tourist meals. Some sell incense sticks and paper money, and some families roast whole sheep. Many people come from the mountain to sell local specialty snacks such as tartary buckwheat cake, rice tofu, green tofu and rice noodles. Others rely on the rich local medicinal resources to set up stalls to sell medicines and sell wild gastrodia elata, coptis chinensis, rhubarb, radix aucklandiae and codonopsis pilosula. An old Chinese doctor surnamed Gou sold more than 3,000 yuan these two days.

Tian Jilan, who sells barbecues in Youyang County, opened four barbecue shops on the mountain and hauled generators with engineering vehicles to generate electricity. She said no one was selling barbecues on it. If the weather is fine, it is not a problem to earn 10 thousand yuan in two days.

"Now our reception capacity is limited. We will expand our housing this year, and our income will be even greater in the future. " Due to the large number of guests, Tianhua Panjia * * * receives thousands of tourists, each receiving 10 yuan, earning tens of thousands of yuan in two days. Tian Jianbo, who works in Luzhou, Sichuan, also took a special leave to help greet the guests for his brother's family. However, due to too many guests, the family has been busy until 3 am on the 6 th. Many guests still can't eat, and some can only eat instant noodles and biscuits.
