The cause of hypertension is not completely clear. Some people think that it is related to heredity, while others think that obesity, salty food, excessive smoking and long-term mental stress are closely related. In fact, many of them are related to nutritional factors, such as protein, cholesterol, vitamins, fat, sodium, potassium and zinc. If you pay attention to reasonable nutrition and control blood pressure in your daily diet, the effect can be equivalent to taking antihypertensive drugs.

(1) Obesity is one of the risk factors of hypertension, which is caused by excessive calorie intake. Excessive heat in the human body will be converted into fat, which will be stored under the skin and in various tissues of the body, leading to obesity, thus making systolic and diastolic blood pressure higher than normal. An obese person with a weight of 25 kg above the normal weight has a systolic blood pressure of 10 mm Hg and a diastolic blood pressure of 7 mm Hg. Therefore, maintaining a normal and ideal weight is an important project to prevent and treat hypertension.

(2) There is a relative correlation between salt intake and hypertension. Therefore, it is generally advocated that patients with hypertension should control their salt intake below 5 grams per day. If there are patients with weak heart, it is more appropriate to strictly limit the intake of salt below 2 grams per day.

(3) Eat more foods rich in vitamin C, such as vegetables and fruits. Because vitamin C has the function of protecting arterial endothelial cells from harmful substances in the body.

(4) Eat less foods with high animal fat content, because animal fat contains high saturated fatty acids, which will increase cholesterol and lead to thrombosis, thus increasing the incidence of hypertensive stroke. Vegetable oil contains high unsaturated fatty acids, which can prolong platelet aggregation time, inhibit thrombosis and lower blood pressure. Therefore, vegetable oil should be used in diet, and low cholesterol and low saturated fatty acids should be used in food. Such as vegetables, fruits, fish, lean meat, and low-fat milk, shells and other foods.

(5) Taking enough calcium can prevent blood pressure from rising. The research data show that the average daily calcium intake is below 500ml, which is twice as high as the average daily calcium intake 1000ml to 1500ml. Therefore, you can eat more sea fish, kelp and seaweed on weekdays.

In short, patients with hypertension should try to snack on sweets, drink less sweet drinks and eat less high-calorie and fried foods. Use less salt when cooking, do not eat pickles and pickled foods, do not eat high cholesterol foods such as fish roe and animal brains, and use vegetable oils such as peanut oil, sunflower oil and soybean oil instead. Eat more vegetables, fruits and seafood.
