2. Calcium deficiency: If the baby is deficient in calcium, it will lead to unstable sleep. Parents should supplement the baby with calcium in time.

How to care for babies

1. Clean the mouth

When the fetus is delivered, the mucus and amniotic fluid in the oropharynx should be cleared quickly to avoid aspiration and cause aspiration pneumonia. , but do not scrub the mouth, because the oral mucosa of newborns is thin and tender and susceptible to damage. If "thrush" occurs - flaky white films appear on the oral mucosa, you can gently apply nystatin lotion.

2. Insulation

Immediately after birth, the newborn's body should be gently dried and wrapped in a clean and warm cotton blanket. The room temperature cannot be lower than 23℃. The newborn's body temperature should be maintained at 36 to 37°C. The body temperature should be measured every 4 hours on the first day after birth. When the body temperature stabilizes at around 36.5°C, it can be changed to every 6 to 12 hours in the future. If the body temperature is lower than 36°C or higher than 38°C, the cause should be found and dealt with.

3. Eye drops

Use 0.5% neomycin or 0.25% chloramphenicol eye drops immediately after birth to prevent neonatal ophthalmia. When there is a lot of eye secretions, you can use saline or 2% boric acid cotton balls to wipe them clean before instilling eye drops.

4. Position

Except for the mother to hold her up for feeding, the newborn will rest in bed all day. Enough sleep time should be ensured, more than 20 hours a day. It is best to lie on the side, especially on the right side after feeding, and usually on the left side. Changing positions frequently can prevent head tilt while sleeping. It is not safe to lie on your back. This position, such as when breastfeeding, can cause suffocation. It is not necessary to use a pillow. If you use a pillow, the height of the pillow should be roughly the same as the shoulder width, and hard pillows should not be used to correct the head shape.

5. Pay attention to the living environment

Pay special attention to two factors in the living environment: The first is the ventilation factor. The living environment of newborns requires appropriate ventilation and airflow, and at the same time, the draft of traditional houses facing south and north must be avoided; the second is the noise factor. High-decibel and harsh noises should be isolated to avoid damage to the baby's hearing organs.

What is the normal body temperature of a baby?

1. There are three commonly used places to measure body temperature, namely the mouth, armpit and anus. The normal body temperature at the anus is between 36.5℃ and 37.5℃; In the oral cavity, it is between 36.2℃ and 37.3℃; in the armpit, it is between 35.9℃ and 37.2℃. After measurement, if it exceeds the normal range by more than 0.5°C, it is called fever.

2. People often say that it is normal for babies under one year old to have a body temperature below 37.5°C. The reason is that the center in the baby's brain that controls body temperature is not yet mature, that is, the ability to control body temperature is not strong enough, so the baby's body temperature will be affected by the ambient temperature. In hot weather or with too many packages, the body temperature will rise slightly, but it should not exceed 37.5°C. In cold weather or in air-conditioned rooms with lower temperatures, body temperature can drop to 36°C or lower.

3. In the hot summer, the temperature is very high, and the baby's own ability to regulate body temperature is poor. When the mother holds the baby, the heat is not easy to dissipate, causing the body temperature to rise. However, this kind of fever usually does not last too long. If you put the child in a cool place, fan it a little, give the child some cool fruit juice to drink, or give the child a warm bath, the body temperature will drop to 0 in a few hours. normal. In winter, if the indoor temperature is too high and the baby is wrapped too much, the baby's body temperature will also rise.
