What month is the rainy season

Meiyu season refers to June and July every year.

Meiyu, also known as "mildew rain", refers to the climate phenomenon of continuous rainy days in June and July in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, Taiwan Province Province in China, south-central Japan and South Korea. Named after the maturity of plums in the south of the Yangtze River, this period is called Meiyu season.

In the rainy season, the air humidity is high and the temperature is high, so clothes are easy to get moldy, so some people call the rainy season "moldy rain". After the rainy season, the weather began to be dominated by the Pacific subtropical high and officially entered the hot summer.

According to the time and duration of plum rain, it can be divided into normal plum rain, early plum rain, late plum rain, long plum rain, short plum rain and empty plum rain. Because the climate change is different every year, the appearance of plum rain will be different.

Classification of plum rains:

Meiyu can be divided into normal Meiyu, early Meiyu, late Meiyu, super-long Meiyu, short plum, empty plum and inverted plum.

1, normal plum rain.

Normal plum rains begin in mid-June and end in mid-July, lasting for more than 20 days, with rainfall of 200-400 mm, continuous rainfall, high temperature and high humidity. This normal plum rain accounts for about half of the total number of plum rains.

2, early plum rain.

Plum rains occur every year, but some years will suddenly come in late May and early June. In meteorology, the plum rain that began before the "Mang" solar term is collectively called "early plum rain". After the early Meiyu began, the temperature was still relatively low and there was no obvious humidity. Early plum rains are basically once in ten years.

3, late plum rain.

Meiyu that begins after the end of June is called late Meiyu. Thundershowers often occur in the late Meiyu period, and the duration is not long, with an average of only about 15 days, but the rainfall in the late Meiyu period is relatively concentrated.

4. Temeiyu.

Sometimes the plum rains come early and last for a long time. The whole meiyu period even lasted for more than two months, bringing a lot of precipitation. Long plum rains can easily lead to floods.

5. Short plum and empty plum.

On the contrary, the plum rains in some years are not obvious, and there is not much precipitation after more than ten days. This situation is called "short plum". Even in some years, there is no continuous rainy weather, which is called "empty plum".

6, pour Huangmei.

Sometimes it seems that the rainy season has passed, but a few days later, the hot and humid thunderstorm weather reappears and will last for a period of time, which is called "pour Huangmei" and generally lasts about 7- 10 days.
