Bazhong is located in the west of China, at the southern foot of Micang Mountain in Daba Mountain at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi. The remote mountainous area around the basin borders Dazhou in the east, Nanchong in the south, Guangyuan in the west and Hanzhong in Shaanxi in the north.
