Because Xinjiang is located in the northwest of China, the weather is cold, winter comes early and spring comes late, and only four months a year are suitable for tourism, from June to 10. At other times, it is impossible to pass because of heavy snow, and winter traffic control is implemented.

Duku Highway, namely Dushanzi-Kuche section of National Highway 2 17, is the southern section of National Highway 2 17 connecting the north and south of Xinjiang, and it is also called Tianshan Highway because it crosses Tianshan Mountain. It starts in Dushanzi area of Karamay, an oil city in northern Xinjiang, and ends in Kuqa area of Aksu area in southern Xinjiang, the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the northern edge of Tarim Basin.

The total length is 56 1km, half of the road sections are over 2000 meters above sea level, and the highest point is over 3400 meters above sea level.
