I can’t describe Lugu Lake in words, I can only say: Lugu Lake is a worthwhile trip.

Dali Erhai Cangshan, Lijiang Old Town and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Shangri-La Pudacuo, Diqing Meili Snow Mountain, etc. were all my first time, as was Lugu Lake. But the only thing that made me marvel, praise, and linger on was the quiet Lugu Lake.

How to choose a self-driving route to Lugu Lake?

Lugu Lake, starting from Kunming, the navigation shows three roads. And I chose the one with the shortest distance. After driving it, I realized that the provincial highway S216 was the worst road to choose. Crossing the border to Panzhihua, climbing over the vast unknown mountains, over and over again...and then it is a long downhill, deep in the night, the car is moving forward, but you have no way of knowing what is waiting for you ahead, so that I am meandering When meeting another car on a winding road, my car hit the guardrail. The harsh and strange friction sound made me think that my car had suffered heavy damage. Fortunately, I should say lucky, there was only a scratch on the side of the car, but thinking back to the meeting that night still makes me feel scared. So, if you also go to Lugu Lake, remember: don’t cross Panzhihua! Don't take the S216 in Sichuan, it's too dangerous, boring and torturous. Please take the direction of Dali and Lijiang. It's a little detour, but the road conditions are good and the time may not be long.

Lugu Lake, how to travel around the lake?

Lugu Lake is a circle. There are many guides and experience sharing on the Internet. I will only share my Lugu Lake environment from the perspective of someone who grew up in a mountainous area and has lived in the city for a long time. I can’t say this travel guide is the best guide, but I think it should be the simplest and most comfortable light luxury guide.

If you choose to cross from Panzhihua to Lugu Lake like me, it is recommended that you first navigate the Caohai of Lugu Lake and start the first stop of Lugu Lake, and then follow the Daluo Lake Touring in the water direction, passing through Lige, then heading towards Lugu Lake Town, and finally heading to Caohai, this is a complete circle. Tip: If you don’t go to Lijiang, you don’t need to drive to Caohai, but return to Panzhihua in the direction you entered Lugu Lake. Of course, you can also go to Lugu Lake Town first, instead of going to Caohai, and then drive in the direction of Dazu Village to Lige, Daluoshui, and Caohai.

If you are driving into Lugu Lake from Lijiang, you can choose to navigate in two directions: first, locate Daluoshui, then go to Caohai, and then navigate to Lugu Lake Town direction, then travel in the direction of Lover's Beach and Dazu Village, and finally arrive at Lige; secondly, locate Lige, then navigate to Dazu Village, Lover's Beach, then Lugu Lake Town, Caohai, and finally Daluoshui.

Since you can travel around Lugu Lake, you don’t have to worry about which direction to take when driving by yourself. But if it’s night, don’t take the road between Lugu Lake Town, Lover’s Beach, Dazu Village, Nisai, and Lige (the same goes for the opposite direction), because the road is narrow and the road conditions are worse than those on the Daluoshui side. , so it is recommended to drive through Lugu Lake Town, Lover's Beach, Dazu Village and Lige during the day.

Lugu Lake, where is the most essential tourist spot?

For Lugu Lake, seniors on the Internet gave many points, such as: Daluoshui, Zhudi, Lige, Nisai, Xiaoluoshui, Dazui (Dazu Village), Lover's Beach, Lugu Lake Town, Zhaojiawan, Luowa, Wuzhiluo, Caohai, Nawa, Shankua, Sanjia Village, etc.

Mentioning these points, there must be the essence of Lugu Lake viewing spots. I spent a day slowly circling Lugu Lake, so I will give three points from my perspective for reference by those who come after me: the first is Daluoshui; the second is Lige; the third is Dazu Village and Lover's Beach, Ni The stuffing is also good. The places mentioned in the above three points are recommended places for everyone to stay overnight, but the most recommended one is the inn by the Daluoshui Lake. You can just move a chair and sit by the lake, and the view is very wide. There are several other places as well. Good. For example, the accommodation on Rigg Island will have the feeling of being in a secluded mountain stream; the accommodation on Lover's Beach will have the feeling of a coastal vacation. In short, you can feel free to mention these points without any regrets.

Daluoshui has a wide view, the water is right on the roadside of the inn, and there is also a boating pier. There is a very suitable place for taking pictures ( See photos), where accommodation, dining and parking are mature. You can go boating to Liwubi Island in Daluoshui. There are many kinds of boating here, but basically they are all around Liwubi Island. The whole journey takes more than an hour. Originally, I chose to go to Heiwa'o Island and Liwubi Island. The cost of the rowing route on Bi Island is more than 300, and the whole trip takes more than 3 hours. However, the rowing brother said that no one else is going, which means that it is very difficult to form a team to go to the line between Hiva'o Island and Liwu Bi Island. Yes, tourists basically only choose the route around Liwubi Island, but a round trip is also very interesting.

Lige, find a place that will make you want to cry quietly. Lige and Lige Island are located on the side of Lugu Lake near the Gemu Goddess Mountain.

There are more viewing angles for taking pictures here than in Daluoshui. Whether it is the angle or the layering of the terrain, Lige is the best place to take pictures in Lugu Lake. Let’s put it this way: taking photos in Lige has a natural reference system for taking artistic photos! The local boatman told me that the Sky Mirror of Lugu Lake is in Lige (see the photo). Indeed, as the boatman said, the Sky Mirror of Lugu Lake is purer, more transparent, and the water surface is flatter and quieter. I saw a beautiful girl in red taking artistic photos in Lige (see photo), beautiful! You can also take a boat trip to Lugu Lake.

Nisai, Xiaoluoshui, Dazu Village and Lover’s Beach, starting from Lige, proceed along Nisai and towards Lover’s Beach. The current road conditions are relatively poor. In many places, only one car can pass. When meeting a car, you need to miss another car and wait. This is why I suggest that you don’t force yourself to walk on this side at night, but you still need to control the risk. Going in this direction, you will pass the scenic stone monument of Lugu Lake (see photo). It is worth taking a commemorative photo here. Regarding the experience of Nisai, Xiaoluoshui, Dazu Village, and Lover's Beach, I only stopped briefly, but when you get closer to these points, everything is simpler than Daluoshui and Lige, except Lover's Beach can Play in the sand, but swimming is not allowed in the entire Lugu Lake.

Regarding the essence of Lugu Lake, I could have ended here, but there is one more place that I have to mention. After all, the world has given The name it instills is too romantic and tempting, and this is the Goddess Bay of Lugu Lake. If a friend asks me this: Is the Goddess Bay in Lugu Lake worth going? I would tell her/him: It’s not worth going! The reasons are: first, Goddess Bay is too far from the main road. After entering, the road to the end is very messy; second, after walking more than 100 meters to Goddess Bay, the local villagers made the water very turbid when I went there. The key is the view. The left and right width is relatively narrow, and the impact of the Lugu Lake surface that can be seen is not strong; 3. Some people say that watching the sunset at Goddess Bay is very romantic. When I went there, the sun was setting, but I did not see the beautiful sunset. Of course, I can’t say that the weather was bad when I went there. I mean, it was a long drive, the road was messy at the end, and the vision was narrow, just to watch the sunset? Just like me, the weather is good and the sun is setting. What should I do if I don’t see it? So, whether to go to Goddess Bay or not, I will only talk about it here. If you have enough time and a lot of money, rafting in Goddess Bay may be a bit interesting.

Finally, at other points in Lugu Lake, you can just stop and take photos. Visiting Lugu Lake still needs to be done slowly. It’s not easy to go there and walk around every corner. Going is also what I wish for.
