Will there be a typhoon in Guangzhou?

On July 16, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province was affected by the external circulation of Typhoon Lee Tae, and strong convective weather such as heavy precipitation, thunderstorms and strong winds appeared in the urban area. According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, at July/KOOC-0/6/KOOC-0/7, the center of the No.4 typhoon Lee Tae (severe tropical storm) this year was located in the northern part of the South China Sea, about 530 kilometers southeast of Zhanjiang, Guangdong. The maximum wind force near the center is 1 1 (30m/s), the lowest air pressure in the center is 980 hectopascals, the radius of the seven-level wind circle is 280-300km, and the radius of the ten-level wind circle is 50km.

It is estimated that the typhoon center will move to the north-north direction at a speed of about 15km per hour, and its intensity will gradually increase. It will be at 17 (typhoon level or strong typhoon level, 35-42m/s, 12- 14) and 18 at night.

Typhoon prevention measures

1. Monitoring weather forecast: Pay close attention to the typhoon forecast and early warning information released by the meteorological department, and keep abreast of the typhoon dynamics and the areas that may be affected.

2. Fixation of indoor items: Make sure that the indoor items at home are fixed firmly to avoid being injured when the typhoon comes.

3. Clean up the garden garbage at will: Before the typhoon comes, clean up the sundries and garbage in the garden area to reduce the flying objects when the wind is strong.

4. Waterproof measures: check whether the roof, doors, windows and sewers are in good condition and maintain them in time to ensure that rainwater will not enter the room.

5. Reserve emergency materials: including food, drinking water, medicines, flashlights, spare batteries and other common emergency materials.

6. Evacuation and refuge: If the area is a high-risk area when the typhoon comes, evacuation or refuge should be carried out in strict accordance with the government's guidelines.
