1. Take precautions in advance. Pay attention to the weather forecast and make emergency plans in advance. Reinforce breeding greenhouses and production buildings, and overhaul production equipment such as aerators, water pumps, and diesel generators. Prepare emergency chemical oxygenators for pond farming, anti-waterlogging fish netting, steel ropes, bamboo poles, life jackets, flashlights and other emergency supplies. Dredge the pond inlet and outlet, surrounding canals and channels, and strengthen the pond ridges and anti-escape nets to prevent fish, shrimps and crabs from escaping from flooding the pond.
2. Strictly prevent hypoxia and flooding of ponds. Before a heavy rain, the air pressure is low and there is a lack of oxygen in the water, which can easily cause flooding. Pay close attention to weather changes, turn on the aerator in a timely manner according to weather conditions, and add new water in a timely manner according to the pond water quality. Patrol the pond three times a day in the morning, noon and evening to carefully observe the changes in water quality and the activities of aquatic products. Especially when the weather changes from sunny to rainy, pond patrols should be strengthened. If hypoxia is found, oxygen should be added immediately.
3. Feed feed scientifically. Determine the daily feed amount according to the weather, pond water quality, aquatic product weight and physical condition, etc., to prevent overfeeding from causing indigestion and reduced immunity of aquatic products. Lactic acid bacteria, multivitamins, immune polysaccharides, etc. are regularly mixed into the feed to improve the anti-stress and immune capabilities of aquatic products. The feeding time should be changed to morning and evening feeding, and the feeding time should be appropriately extended. In case of short-term heavy rainfall, it is necessary to feed a small amount or not at all.
4. Strengthen water quality control. During heavy rains, the water becomes turbid and various pathogenic microorganisms breed and multiply, easily causing fish diseases. It is necessary to regularly use bleaching powder, strong chlorine, quicklime, dibromohydantoin, chlorine dioxide, iodine preparations and other drugs to disinfect the breeding water to kill pathogenic bacteria.
