Therefore, when the brake pad is abnormal, the thickness of the brake pad should be checked first. If there is no problem with the thickness, stamp a few feet and brake may alleviate the abnormal sound problem.

Brake pad maintenance method:

1. Check the brake shoes every 5,000 kilometers under normal driving conditions, not only to check the remaining thickness, but also to check the wear state of the shoes, whether the wear degree on both sides is the same, whether it is free to return, etc. If you find anything unusual, you must deal with it immediately.

2. Brake shoes are generally composed of iron lining and friction materials. Don't wait until the friction material is worn before replacing the brake shoe. For example, the thickness of the front brake shoe of Jetta car is 14 mm, and the replacement limit thickness is 7 mm, in which the thickness of the iron lining plate is more than 3 mm and the thickness of the friction material is close to 4 mm. Some vehicles are equipped with the brake shoe alarm function. Once the wear limit is reached, the instrument will give an alarm to prompt the replacement of shoes. Shoes that have reached the service limit must be replaced. Even if they can be used for a while, the braking effect will be reduced, which will affect driving safety.

3. When replacing the brake pads, please replace the brake pads provided by the original accessories. Only in this way, the braking effect between the brake pad and the brake disc is the best and the wear is the least.

4. When replacing the brake shoe, special tools must be used to jack up the brake cylinder. You can't press it back with other crowbars, which may easily cause the lead screw of the brake caliper to bend and the brake pad to get stuck.

5. After replacement, be sure to brake a few feet to eliminate the gap between the brake shoe and the brake disc, resulting in the first foot not braking, which is prone to accidents.

6. It takes 200 kilometers to achieve the best braking effect after replacing the brake shoe. New shoes must be driven carefully.
