Where is the most famous temple in Huanglongtan?
Huanglong Ancient Temple
About 3.5 kilometers away from Mizoguchi, there is Huanglong Zhong Temple where tourists can rest. According to "Songpan County Chronicles": "Huanglong Temple was built by soldiers and horses of the Ming Dynasty for pilgrimage. It is also called Snow Mountain Temple. It is said that Huanglong Zhenren cultivated his Taoism here, hence the name. There are front, middle and back temples, with palaces and pavilions facing each other, five miles apart." .
There were originally three temples in the ditch: the front, the middle and the back. The former temple is now the only remaining ruins; the middle temple has five halls, covering an area of ??about 1,000 square meters. There are still Guanyin Hall and 18 Arhat statues in the hall. Located at the end of Huanglong Valley at an altitude of 3,558 meters and covering an area of ??2,100 square meters, the temple buildings are basically well preserved. According to legend, Huanglong helped Yu control the floods, and later generations built a temple and erected a monument here to offer sacrifices. Another theory is that Huanglong practiced Taoism and became an immortal here and built Huanglong Temple. Now in the main hall of the temple, there is a real statue of Huanglong wearing a black Taoist robe and a calm expression.
According to the "Songpan County Chronicle": "Yu controlled the floods to Maozhou, and Huanglong carried the boat to help Yu guide the water. From Maozhou, there began to be the Guojiang River... Later, Huanglong practiced Taoism and became an immortal. The five-color landscape is left to the world. People build temples and worship year after year."
The building of Huanglongzhong Temple covers an area of ??about 700 square meters. It is a Buddhist temple with a single eaves and mountain-style shape, which is simple and majestic. There were originally five halls, namely Lingguan Hall, Maitreya Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Big Buddha Hall, and Guanyin Hall. Now only the Guanyin Hall and the statues of the Eighteen Arhats remain. It has been restored in recent years. There are tea, instruments and tourist souvenirs available in the hall.
About 2.5 kilometers away from the Central Temple is Huanglonghou Temple, which was also built for horse pilgrimage. The name of the temple follows the shape of the mountain. It is magnificent, with flying fighting arches, carved beams and painted buildings, and has a unique style. The temple gate is painted with a colorful dragon and an ancient plaque on it. In the middle is "Huanglong Ancient Temple", with "Feige Liudan" written on the left and "Blue mountains, sky and water" written on the right. The calligraphy is vigorous and dignified.
The mountains surrounding Huanglong Ancient Temple are green and undulating, also known as Hidden Dragon Mountain. The snow-capped Yucui Mountain with towering jade peaks and the summit of Xuebaoding are majestically sawn by the Yellow Dragon. There is a well-developed glacier landform on the top of Xuebao, and the ridges of the horn peaks are extremely dangerous under the sunlight.
There is nearly 10,000 square meters of open space in front of the temple, where temple fairs are held every year. The area of ??about one square kilometer behind the temple is the "golden" scenic spot in Huanglong Scenic Area.
Less than 100 meters away from the back of the Hou Temple, there is the Dragon King Temple. The Huanglong Temple Fair is held every year on the 15th day of the sixth lunar month. At that time, people of Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and Han ethnic groups will climb mountains to enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature and pray for good luck and a good harvest.
Huanglong Temple Huanglong Temple Scenic Area is located at the foothills of Shaohe Mountain, 12 kilometers west of Jianshui City. On the mountain, there are towering ancient trees, dense vines, looming temples, and majestic attics. At the foot of the mountain, there is a half-acre-square, crystal-clear Huanglong Pool. Its precious springs gush all year round, and the water temperature is between 7°C and 8°C. It is a natural swimming pool, enjoying Known as “the mountain temple with the most secluded spring scenery”, it is a good place for tourists to enjoy nature.
It is said that a long time ago, there was no farmland, no land, and no water for people to drink. It was a desolate place. One night, a violent wind suddenly rose, thunder and lightning flashed in the sky, and heavy rain poured down. After the rain and the sky cleared, a karst spring as thick as an ox spewed out from the belly of the mountain. For thousands of years, this clear spring has been gurgling all year round. This is today's Huanglongtan.
In fact, this Longtan water is the result of the hard work of the working people. In order to commemorate this Longtan water, during the Ming Dynasty, local officials and people led the people to build a temple on the top of Shaohe Mountain and named it Huanglong Temple. Since the Qing Dynasty, officials and citizens have built a series of buildings such as Longtan Temple on the top of the mountain, covering an area of ??7,500 square meters. The buildings are built according to the mountain position and rise in sequence. Three courtyards and four groups of buildings are formed on the main axis. The Guanyin Hall on the left and the Thunder God Hall on the right form their own pattern. The front right side is the mountain gate, and the entrance is the cooling terrace. There are two pavilions on the left and right in the front, facing a cliff below and looking ahead to a vast expanse of land. The Dragon King Temple is located on the west side of Longtan at the foot of the mountain. It is a courtyard house. The ancient buildings of Huanglong Temple have formed a relatively complete scale, integrating the styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and are now basically well preserved.
After generations of hard work of working people, the area around Huanglong Temple has become a paddy field with abundant water resources. No matter how bad the weather is, the water in Longtan never stops flowing. In the early 1980s, Jianshui County suffered a severe drought that had been rare in decades. Many places even lacked drinking water, but the area around Huanglong Temple had clear springs flowing and abundant harvests. In order to further develop and construct the Huanglong Temple Scenic Area, the government and the public raised funds through multiple channels and opened the Huanglong Temple Water Amusement Center. Four water slides that look like four dragons flying through the clouds and mist rise into the sky, complementing the surrounding fishing ponds and natural swimming pools. Interesting.
The Huanglong Temple Scenic Area has beautiful mountains and clear waters and ancient temples, which echo the east-west Yanzi Cave in the east of the county, making the historical and cultural city of Jianshui even more dazzling.
