In Pingpo Miao Village, I was "crowded" with a group of children in the batik workshop, watching attentively a Miao painter, holding a heated copper sharp knife in his hand, drinking ink and melting it in wax, and drawing very fine lines on white gray cloth.

I'm curious about this special painting knife. When I picked it up, the feeling of "hot" immediately passed on to my fingers. Wow! I remembered that I had taught myself to paint oil with a scraper, and the operation was quite unsatisfactory. I don't think I can control it as easily as a brush.

I sigh that the painters in Pingpo Miao Village are so skilled in using knife and pencil techniques to create exquisite paintings. Especially when I know that they have not received professional training and their inspiration is completely absorbed from the essence of nature, I admire them all the more.

Female painters paint landscapes, while others paint heaven and earth, with strong contrast between cold and warm colors and exquisite creativity. I "greedily" collected exquisite paintings and brought them back to Shanghai to copy them slowly, enriching the fun of life, which is also one of the biggest gains of my trip.
