How to grow vegetables to cope with haze weather

Haze weather has a greater impact on vegetable production: on the one hand, if the concentration of dust particles in the haze is too high, the plants will be overwhelmed, thus affecting the respiration of the plants. On the other hand, in haze weather, air mobility is poor and sunlight is blocked, which in turn affects the photosynthesis of plants. In particular, it has a great negative impact on the production of facility vegetables. In haze weather, the air temperature and ground temperature in the greenhouse are low, which has a great impact on the growth of vegetables. At the same time, the humidity in the greenhouse is high, making diseases easy to occur. Farmers can take measures from the following aspects to reduce the impact of haze weather on facility vegetables.

1. Keep the shed film clean, eliminate water droplets in the film in time, and fully maintain the light transmittance of the shed film.

2. Make full use of reflected light by laying reflective films on the floor, hanging reflective films on walls, and painting the surfaces of interior walls and columns white. Where conditions permit, incandescent lamps can be hung in the shed to provide artificial light.

3. Improve the lighting conditions between vegetable groups through comprehensive agricultural measures such as pruning and removing old leaves.

4. Reduce the application of chemical fertilizers, especially nitrogen fertilizers, and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, biological fertilizers, decomposed organic fertilizers, etc. in an appropriate amount to help improve the cold resistance of vegetables and reduce the emission of harmful gases. Spray Bihu, chitin and other nutritional drugs to promote photosynthesis and nutrient absorption of plants.

5. Use as little ventilation as possible in foggy and hazy weather to prevent solid particles in the air from falling on vegetable leaves.

6. Irrigation should be done with caution. It is not suitable to irrigate in haze and low temperature weather. This will cause the soil temperature to drop, which is not conducive to the growth of vegetables.

7. Pay attention to the prevention and control of pests and diseases. Continuous haze has high humidity in the ceiling, which can easily cause the outbreak of various pests and diseases. In order not to increase the humidity in the shed, aerosol or dust agents can be used for control.
