Introduction to Seda

Seda is located in the hilly plateau area in the northwest of Sichuan Province, in the northeast of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and borders Dari and Banma counties in Goluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province , is a purely pastoral county dominated by Tibetans. The terrain in Seda is complex and belongs to the typical Bayan Harshan fold belt of the western Sichuan geosynclinal system, with an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters.

Seda has abundant sunshine and a plateau monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of minus 1°C and a long winter without summer. Generally speaking, May to October is the normal season to travel to Seda. It will be beautiful when there is snow in winter. There will be snow scenes after November, but the convenience of transportation must be considered. The roads are covered with ice and snow, making it difficult to walk, and on the plateau. It is very, very cold in the middle of winter, with a huge temperature difference between day and night. There is no heating in the room in winter, so catching a cold on the plateau is very troublesome.

The altitude here is about 3800 meters, and the average annual temperature is only 0℃. Two sweaters are enough; the temperature in July is about 10-20℃. It rains frequently, so take precautions against rain.
