The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is one of Shanghai's landmark cultural landscapes, located in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, with a height of about 468 meters. The building was completed in July of 199 1 and put into use in May of 1995. It undertakes 6 sets of wireless TV transmission services in Shanghai, covering 80 kilometers.

The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is a multi-tube structure, with three giant hollow columns with a diameter of 9 meters and a height of 287 meters, which are connected by beams with a height of 6 meters. At a height of 93 meters, it is supported by three inclined columns with a diameter of 7 meters, and the inclined columns form a 60-degree angle with the ground.

The building has 425 buried foundation piles at 12m, and three steel structure balls with thousands of tons are suspended at 1 12m, 295m and 350m respectively. Three diagonal braces with a height close to 100 m are added to the reinforced concrete building.

The TV tower has three spheres: the bottom, the top and the top. The top ball is called the Space Hall, with a center elevation of 342m and a sphere diameter of16m. * * * There are four floors, namely elevator room, conference hall, sightseeing floor and pipeline floor.
