Is Mount Everest Mount Everest?

Emerald Everest, also known as Coco Saijimen Peak, is 6178m above sea level, and is located at10km south of Golmud City, Qinghai Province and10km east of Kunlun Mountain Pass. It is the highest peak in the east of Kunlun Mountain, which is gentle in the south and steep in the north. The end of the glacier on the south slope is about 5 100 meters above sea level. Glaciers on the northern slope extend to 4400 meters. The top of the mountain is covered with ice and snow all year round, and no rocks are exposed. The snow slope is relatively gentle. Glaciers below the snow basin belong to regressive continental glaciers because of their high annual temperature, rapid melting and little precipitation. Although there are cracks on the glacier, there are few broken ice collapse areas. The snow basin is flat and wide, and no deposits and collapse traces are found under the snow slope. The snow and ice peaks on both sides of the mountain pass are relatively concentrated, each peak is covered with snow, and the slopes and glaciers are grayish brown, which obviously presents cracks.

Kunlun Mountain Pass is 4774.79 meters above sea level, which is the only pass between Gansu and Qinghai provinces through the middle section of Kunlun Mountain by Qinghai-Tibet Highway to Tibet. On the east and west sides of the Kunlun Mountain Pass, on the trunk of the middle section of Kunlun Mountain, there are about 20 peaks with an altitude of over 5,000 meters. Among them, there are 3-5 Yu Xufeng in the west and 22 Emerald Everest in the east, with the highest elevation of 6 178.6 meters and the lowest elevation of 554 1 meter. Except Emerald Everest, most of them belong to Mount Everest.

Emerald Everest has a moderate height and a gentle slope, so it doesn't need too high climbing skills. It is an entry-level difficulty level, suitable for beginners, and a good training ground for climbers to climb snow-capped mountains for the first time. As long as climbers have good physical fitness and endurance, master basic mountaineering knowledge and prepare necessary equipment, they can try to climb Emerald Everest.

The natural conditions on the north and south sides are different. On the south side are "Dolgij Balden" and Caotan Pingyi, with an altitude of about 4,800 meters. It is flat and wide, with dense plants, many wild animals, dense rivers in the mountains and dense lakes on the plateau. The climbing route on the south slope is clear and clear, and the technical requirements for climbing are low. The height of the base camp is 4800 meters above sea level. On the north side of Yushan is Xidatan, a narrow valley. The Qinghai-Tibet Highway runs through it, and the foothills at an altitude of 4,200 meters have an ideal base camp. The route on the north slope is complicated, and all three glaciers on the north side can climb Yushan Mountain. On the way, you will encounter terrain such as ice walls and ice cracks. Climbers can gain mountaineering experience on the south slope and further learn ice and snow techniques and mountaineering tactics on the north slope.

Yuzhu Mountain has a continental climate with an annual rainfall of only 200mm. However, in high altitude areas above 5000 meters above sea level, due to the influence of high-altitude convective airflow, the rainfall is hundreds of millimeters higher than that in piedmont areas. The annual average temperature is MINUS 5 degrees, and the extreme minimum temperature can reach MINUS 30 degrees. The mountaineering season is from May to September, in which the wind is strong in May and there is more rain in July and August, so June or the end of August and the beginning of September are the best.

The section below C2 on the northern slope of Mount Everest is generally weak because it has been traveling in the glacial valley, and the section above C2 is generally strong because it has been traveling on the ridge. The weather changes frequently and periodically, which is difficult to grasp. Usually there will be a rain and snow from 2 pm to 6 pm; After heavy snow, there are usually 2 ~ 3 days of fine weather. The overall slope of the glacier is not very large, but there are traces of snow flowing locally.

The temperature in Nanpo base camp is -3 degrees to 2 degrees at night, generally above 10 degrees during the day, and it can reach 20 degrees when there is no wind in sunny days. The precipitation is affected by the large circulation, and there is no obvious circulation. Before going up the mountain, you can make a mountaineering plan with reference to the medium-term forecast. It is worth noting that the weather on the mountain is short-lived. Usually it's sunny in the morning, with clouds and light snow at noon and sunny in the evening. This phenomenon is more obvious on the south slope than on the north slope.
