When is the rainy season in China?

The arrival time of rainy season is different in different areas, which is related to the passing of rain belt in China.

On average, from February to May every year, the main rain belt is located in the coastal areas of South China, and it slowly moves northward with the seasonal warming. In the middle and late June, the rain belt moved northward to the Yangtze River basin, which made the Jianghuai area enter the meiyu period, and the continuous rain will last until the beginning of July. In early or mid-July, the rain belt moved northward to the Yellow River basin, and the Jianghuai area was controlled by the subtropical high and entered the summer drought period. If the subtropical high is strong and lasts for a long time, it will be very hot and rainy for a long time, resulting in severe drought. On the south side of the subtropical high is the easterly belt, and there are often easterly waves, tropical storms and even typhoons. Therefore, after mid-July, rainy areas appeared again in South China. From the end of July to the beginning of August, the rain belt moved northward to North China and Northeast China, reaching the northernmost position in a year. If the subtropical high is stable, the summer drought weather in Jianghuai area will continue with high temperature and summer heat. From the end of August to the beginning of September, the rain belt began to withdraw rapidly southward with the activity of cold air in the north, and the rainy season in North China and Northeast China ended at the earliest. In the first ten days of June, 5438+10, the rain belt retreated to the south of the Yangtze River and then to the mainland, ending the one-year cycle of the rain belt movement.
