Brief introduction of grassland town

Grassland Township is located in the southern suburb of Longli County, 26 kilometers away from the county seat and 52 kilometers away from Guiyang city center. It is a typical alpine minority township. The township covers a total area of 486.2 square kilometers, and governs 12 administrative villages, 98 villagers' groups, 103 natural villages, and the cultivated land area 15465 mu. In 2003, the total population of the township was 14633, the agricultural population accounted for 98% of the total population of the township, and the ethnic minorities accounted for 5 1%. It is a township where ethnic minorities live in concentrated communities. Crops are mainly rice and corn. The elevation of the township is between 1.500- 1.700 meters. The landform is dominated by high mountain platforms, which are gentle and open, including Wu Liping and Liangshanping. There are criss-crossing alpine canyons here, with Monkey Valley Scenic Area as the most typical and rich in mineral resources.
