Qingming night fishing generally chooses fishing spots with shallow water depth. Because of the heavy traffic noise during the day, fish are afraid to come to shallow water for food, but most edible things are in shallow water. So after the dead of night, fish will gradually swim to shallow water for food, especially larger fish. Therefore, it is safer to choose shallow water for fishing at night, but the so-called shallow water should not be too shallow, especially when it is cold.

Under normal circumstances, small fish like to be underwater, which is safer. Only arowana, a nocturnal fish, moves upstream of the water at night. So most fish like deep water. When the weather is low, fish move to the upper water or breathe in shallow water.
