Difference between Dendrobium huoshanense and Dendrobium candidum
Dendrobium candidum and Dendrobium huoshanense have very similar growth environments, and both grow on high altitude and foggy rocks and trees. They like warm and humid climate and can't resist cold and hot weather. But its distribution is slightly different. Dendrobium candidum is mostly distributed in the south of Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou and other southwest areas with dense forests, while Dendrobium huoshanense is mostly distributed in Huoshan county and its surrounding areas at the northern foot of Dabie Mountain in western Anhui, and it is extremely rare in other places.
The stem of Dendrobium huoshanense grows upward and gradually tapers from the bottom upward. Fleshy, 3-9 cm long, unbranched, with 3-7 knots, yellow-green, sometimes with rust-like reddish-purple spots, and pale yellow after drying. Dendrobium candidum is generally very long,15-20cm. The appearance is obviously like iron embroidery, which is cylindrical and has black knots.
