Impact of Typhoon No.20219 on Maoming

At 8: 00 am on August 4th, the South China Sea depression intensified to tropical storm level, also named "lupit", which is the 9th typhoon this year.

As of 9: 00, Typhoon lupit maintained a tropical storm level, located about 330 kilometers southwest of the border between Fujian and Guangdong, and is expected to move northeast at a speed of about 10 km per hour.

Judging from the typhoon track map, "lupit" may still land at the junction of Fujian and Guangdong. As the typhoon moves along the coast of Guangdong, it will bring obvious wind and rain effects to southern Guangdong and coastal areas from west to east in the next few days, especially in the Pearl River Estuary and the east, where there will be heavy rain, and the coastal wind power will gradually increase to 8- 10.

At present, the Provincial Sanfang Office and the Provincial Emergency Management Department have started the Class IV emergency response against wind, and the province has started five typhoon yellow warnings, 19 typhoon blue warnings and three typhoon white warnings.

The Provincial Meteorological Observatory predicts that due to the tropical depression, there will be heavy rains in cities and counties in southern Pearl River Delta and eastern Guangdong from the night of the 3rd to the 6th, and moderate thunderstorms in other cities and counties. The sea surface wind in the central and eastern parts of our province gradually increased to 7 ~ 9 gusts 10.

Affected by lupit, there are heavy rains or rainstorms in eastern Guangdong, southern Pearl River Delta and Meizhou, moderate to strong thunderstorms in western Guangdong and heavy rains in other cities and counties. Gust 10 in the central and eastern seas of our province and cities and counties in eastern Guangdong.

Affected by the peripheral circulation of "lupit", since the morning of the 3rd, there have been moderate to heavy local rainstorms in western Guangdong, western cities and counties of the Pearl River Estuary, eastern Guangdong, Heyuan and Meizhou. Among them, some towns and streets in Zhuhai, Foshan, Shanwei, Maoming and Zhanjiang experienced heavy rains, some with short-term strong winds, and other cities and counties experienced moderate thunderstorms and strong winds and some with heavy rains.

The structure of "lupit" is asymmetric, and the strong convection is mainly in the south.

Before landing, the main precipitation cloud system has not landed, mainly to prevent strong convection caused by strong winds and typhoons at sea! Typhoon lupit is like a washing machine. The "dehydration" mode will throw thunderstorm clouds ashore. Needless to say, it is necessary to take an umbrella when going out.

After landing, the convergence zone will push northward, and the monsoon landing will bring continuous heavy precipitation to the south and east of our province. Pay attention to rain, flood, flood and geological disasters! Especially don't play in dangerous areas such as mountains, low-lying places, lakes and beaches!
