Why is Jianyang so hot?
1. The altitude of Jianyang is the lowest among all national meteorological observatories in Chengdu, so the air pressure and temperature are also high. In summer, due to the influence of downdraft, the adiabatic sinking and warming phenomenon of air mass from high altitude to low altitude is more obvious in Jianyang, which makes the near-surface temperature rise obviously.
2. The high base temperature in Jianyang, coupled with the recent low wind speed and less heat exchange, will make the temperature higher at night and the heat will be superimposed, which will further increase the temperature during the day.
3. Chengdu is located on the edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which transits from the plateau to the plain from west to east. The altitude drops sharply, and the temperature is low in the west and high in the east. Jianyang is located in the east of Chengdu, so the temperature is higher in summer.
The above factors lead to the phenomenon of high temperature in summer in Jianyang.
