What's the tropical climate like?
Although the four seasons in the tropics are not obvious, the dry and wet seasons are very obvious. The switching time between dry season and rainy season varies slightly from place to place. The rainy season is about May ~1October, and the dry season is about11~ April. The tropical rainy season is similar to the equatorial belt, with high temperature, rainy and sultry weather, small daily range and short sunny days, with rainfall of 1000 ~ 1500mm. The closer to the equator, the longer the rainy season and the shorter the dry season. Under the control of trade winds, the dry season after the rainy season is dominated by downward airflow, with dry climate, relative humidity of 60% ~ 70%, less rainfall, withered plants and cracked soil.
In tropical summer, the water temperature on the ocean surface is above 26.5℃. Tropical cyclones (typhoons) are prone to occur every time, and the typhoon path is mostly in the tropics to the west, then to the north, and then to the east after leaving the tropics. On the way to tropical climate, if there are no disaster reduction and prevention measures, it may be attacked by floods and storms, resulting in loss of life and property.
Subtropical climate zone
Subtropical climate zone, also known as subtropics, appears in the zone controlled by subtropical high, and it is hit by trade winds for most of the year, with prevailing downdraft, high ground temperature, strong sunshine, partly cloudy, dry climate, more deserts and stable atmosphere. Tropical deserts or trade winds such as Sahara, Australia, Arabian Peninsula, Kalahari and Atacama are all distributed within the coverage of subtropical high. Only on the east coast of the mainland, because there are warm ocean currents passing by, the climate becomes humid in the face of trade winds. The west coast of the mainland is in the leeward position of the trade wind, with cold ocean currents passing along the coast, and the desert can reach the coast directly. Southeast Asia is a typical monsoon climate zone in the world. Although it is also in the subtropical zone, the climate is very humid.
A remarkable feature of subtropical climate is that the annual and daily changes of temperature are very intense. At latitude 20, the annual average temperature difference is only 6.2℃, but it can reach 15℃ in subtropical areas. The diurnal range is large, which can be above 20 ~ 30℃; The highest temperature in summer is above 48 ~ 55℃, and it is cooler at night. Because of the dry climate, strong sunshine and hot sand in bare land, you can roast chicken eggs. When the air near the surface layer is heated, its density decreases, while the air above the surface layer has a higher density. The space layers with different heating degrees refract, forming a mirage and becoming a spectacle in the monotonous desert. Subtropical rainfall is less, the temperature is low, the cloud cover is less, the weather is sunny and stable, and the rainfall distribution is extremely uneven; The monsoon climate zone can reach more than 1000 mm, and the desert zone is generally less than 50 mm The low relative humidity of 2% was recorded in the Sahara desert of Egypt. There is very little cloud cover, which is the least in the world, and the average cloud cover is below 2.
