What do you mean, freeze?

The so-called freezing simply means that under the action of strong cold air, snow and ice are mixed, and sometimes even rain and snow are mixed. Ice and ice flowers firmly cover pastoral mountains, plants and vegetables. In a few days, the leaves will freeze and the vegetables will freeze. If people and animals do not take appropriate protective measures, they may also be frozen to death by frostbite.

Freezing occurred in Guizhou in 2008. Guizhou is located in the northeast of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with an average elevation of1100 m. When winter winds prevail, the cold air from north to south is blocked by the plateau topography, and a quasi-static front of Yunnan-Guizhou (also known as southwest) is formed in the southwest. Due to the continuous rainfall in the area behind the front, when the ground temperature is lower than 0℃, the precipitation becomes supercooled raindrops before reaching the ground, thus forming a common meteorological disaster-freezing in Guizhou mountainous areas in winter.

Freezing is also called freezing rain. Severe freezing weather will destroy wired communication, affect power transmission, interrupt traffic and freeze livestock and crops.

Freezing is a meteorological disaster that often occurs in winter in mountainous areas of southern China. It occurs from time to time in southwest China and Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Hunan, Guangxi and other places around Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, even in mountainous areas of Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces, but it is more common in Guizhou. It is because the cold air mass from the north meets the warm moisture mass from the south in winter and "stays" or lingers between Yunnan and Guizhou, resulting in low temperature and rainy weather and complex terrain.
