The most disturbing thing about fish farming is the water quality. Sometimes the sudden deterioration of water quality will cause a large area of fish death. There are many factors that affect the color of water, such as plankton, suspended particles, dissolved substances, sky and soil reflection. However, the number and species of plankton are the main parts that determine the color of water. According to the color of the pool water, the water quality can be divided into several types.

1. Poor water: the water is light green or crystal clear, and the transparency is above 1250px. The number of plankton in the water is small, but there are some kinds of zooplankton, and sometimes there are phytoplankton that are difficult for fish to digest. If the water quality is fertilized quickly, it is poor in water.

2. Fertile water: Generally, the water is yellowish brown, light brown or oily green, and the transparency is between 25- 1000px, indicating that there are many kinds of zooplankton in the water, which are easy to be eaten by fish, and the water is rich in dissolved oxygen, so it should be fertilized normally.

3. Old water: Generally, the water quality is dark green, blue-green, gray or mixed yellow, with high mixing degree and transparency of 20-625px. Water contains many semi-digestible and digestible substances of fish. If the water quality is not injected and changed in time, it will become worse due to lack of oxygen.

There are many reasons for the formation of green water. After feeding a lot of food, the accumulation of fish excrement or residue increases, which makes these things dissolve a lot of organic matter, decompose into a lot of nitrogen-containing compounds, and even consume oxygen in the water to produce carbon dioxide, which makes the water quality produce optimal oxidation and produce a lot of phytoplankton. We know that green algae need sunlight (plant sunlight lamp), carbon dioxide and organic matter. When these factors are formed, it is easy to produce green water. Using ultraviolet germicidal lamp, algaecide or clarifier is the best way, which can not only hurt money but also root out. These reasons are caused by improper feeding, so review your own feeding management methods first.

4. Poor water quality: When the water quality turns reddish brown, brown or black, there is a stench, which is a reflection of serious water pollution. It is formed by further reproduction of plankton on the basis of fertilizer and water, and blue-green or green clouds and blocky and filamentous phenomena appear, which is called "splash". If no measures are taken to deal with it, it will lead to hypoxia floating in the whole pool and even lead to a large number of deaths. At the same time, the change of water color is also related to the types of feeding and fertilization.

Fish farming is science, art, fatigue, hardship and responsibility. Therefore, not changing water for a long time is not the best way to raise fish, so pay attention!
