Matters needing attention in guitar maintenance

One: avoid bumping: the surface of guitar is generally painted, and the paint on piano is as thin as possible (shellac paint on high-end piano is a pit when touched). Therefore, when playing the piano, you should pay attention to the edges and corners of the tables and chairs and put them down gently. Some friends often put the piano directly against the wall, which is a very bad habit. The piano slips very easily, so it's not the paint. It is light and cracked, but it is heavy.

Second, the influence of temperature change on the piano:

Extreme weather can not be ignored, and the wood will change with the change of temperature and humidity, especially the large wooden part of the piano body. It is difficult for novices to take measures according to the situation. Simply put, there are two situations: too wet and too dry.

In spring and summer, the temperature is high, the humidity difference is large, and the south is humid, especially in spring. The whole wall is covered with water, and the wood gets wet very easily. In this case, the guitar will have the following problems (wood swelling, bread bulging, the neck bending forward, the strings are too high to reach the strings, and the guitar tone is soft and weak).

Solution:

When not playing, put it in a piano box or bag (good quality). If the piano box or bag is not well sealed, moisture can easily enter along the gap. It's best to put some desiccant in it (both guitar sound holes and piano bags can be put). When the weather is not so humid, the piano should be properly exposed (not exposed), blown and ventilated, which can effectively alleviate the humidity.

Don't be exposed to the sun for a long time, don't put it on a window sill or balcony where the sun can shine, and stay away from heating or air conditioning and the trunk of a car.

Low temperature and dry weather in autumn and winter are common in the north. In this case, the wood is easy to dry and lose moisture, and the guitar will have the following problems (wood shrinkage, panel depression, backward bending of the neck, too low strings, resulting in multiple blows, neck shrinkage, thread exposure, hand cutting, serious wood cracking, and dry guitar tone).

Use a humidifier (if you use it well, you must master a degree). Put the piano bag away when you don't play (don't leave the piano in a cold and dry environment for a long time). If possible, be sure to call more.

Three: One thing to know is that the best maintenance method is to play more, let the wood vibrate fully and feel your body temperature. "The piano is not broken, it is broken."

If the piano is cracked or other problems caused by improper maintenance, as long as it does not affect the timbre and feel, the problem is actually not big.
