Cao Xueqin's creation of A Dream of Red Mansions is basically based on the historical materials of the Cao family. He should know something about Nalan Xingde. He is very close to his grandfather. He must have read Nalan Xingde's poems. The author's life experience reflected in Nalan's ci is quite similar to that of Cao Xueqin. In his early years, Nalan Xingde lived in the environment of "cooking oil brings fire, flowers bring scenery", and he also wrote several words of "Hongyi Kuai Lv". But later, due to the unsatisfactory feelings, Nalan's poems often appeared such as "It's wrong to know now", "Why not be lucky and chic", "Love turns into sadness and fatigue" and "amorous", and the pain of lovelorn, grief and abandonment is everywhere in Nalan's poems. Cao Xueqin can't help but be moved by these works. Besides, he also has experiences from Hongyi to Regret for the Past. A Dream of Red Mansions written by him is also the theme of "talking about love", and "mourning for gold and jade" is the main theme of his creation. Therefore, some artistic conception in Nalan's poems can be used for reference to shape the characters of "son's deep affection" and "daughter's poor life" in A Dream of Red Mansions. Even in the thirty-fourth chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions, we can see a similar poem:

Daiyu said with a smile, "Change the word' late at night' to' stone cool'." They knew that she joked during the day that Xiangyun was drunk and lied, and they all laughed. Therefore, the begonia flower represents the stone girl. The author's detailed description of this character is mainly inspired by Dongpo's Haitang poems. Dongpo's poem "The Legend of Taizhen": Ming Taizu boarded Chenxiang Temple and called Taizhen his concubine. When he was drunk, he ordered Lux to help him. Poets spread flowers by people and describe the beauty of begonia flowers by the sleeping state of beautiful women. In A Dream of Red Mansions, Xiang Yun describes lying drunk under the flowers and drawing lots to order food, which is a metaphor for people. Comparing reading the two can achieve the appreciation effect of setting each other off and complementing each other.
