Why do old people get sick easily in winter?

The main reasons why the elderly are prone to get sick in winter:

1. As the temperature drops, capillaries contract and blood circulation resistance increases, diseases such as hypertension, cardiac insufficiency and stroke are prone to occur.

2. Cold weather can change the physical and chemical properties of blood, such as increasing blood viscosity and shortening coagulation time, so it is easy to form venous thrombosis, myocardial infarction and brain hard death.

3. Cold can reduce human immune function and endocrine dysfunction, thus making the elderly vulnerable to bronchitis, bronchial asthma and diabetes;

4. Cold can also cause dysfunction of cerebral cortex and easily induce diseases such as peptic ulcer.
